This was an idea when I first sent a Unicron figure to someone else on Allspark. However, I took far too long to send it off to the recipient, and decided I should just send it instead of waiting even longer so that I could make another picfic. When Dorkus Maximus asked me to send him a Wing Gundam Zero and Gundam Nataku, I had two reactions. 1) "Where the hell are all the Zero and Nataku figures," and 2) "Cool! Picfic time!"
I'll probably never ever ever do another one of these with all eight battloids. It was a nightmare getting them all into the picture as well as getting any little sight gags I wanted, too. I still didn't get it to work out right, since most of the time you can't see what's going on in the background. It just got so crowded and difficult to remember who had already moved for that shot, etc. I did manage to squeeze Zako Soldier in there, though, if you look for him.
You'll notice in the frame where Firefang picks up Firebrand, everyone except Firestorm is looking away. I guess Firestorm didn't care too much for Firebrand's little prank, either. Another fun thing with this one was Fireknight. He's going back and forth, with a peanut to the box, without one away from the box. He was the easiest to pose, since I just turned him around and removed the peanut or put it back as needed.
There was going to be a final frame of the box taped up and ready to go, with a callout from Firebrand inside, but I decided to remove that, and just let the strip end with Foxfire's "Bloomin' Onions!" comment. I figured the reader would have a more imaginative fate for Firebrand than me. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, I can ship Firebrand off to Dorkus Maximus so he can continue the story arc from there!
